Retirees
We owe so much to our beloved retirees! Here are some that have given selflessly and full of love, to our family and so many other families. We are thankful for the love, laughs, therapy, and comfort they and their kittens are giving every single day!
ZoyaIcoons Zoya of Small Haus was our very first Maine Coon breeding female, and what a gift she's been! She gave us four perfect litters, and we are forever grateful for starting our breeding program off with such excellence. She's living with a wonderful family now, and getting spoiled to perfection!
She is a brown patch classic tabby with white. |
ReinhardtSandevar's Reinhardt of Small Haus, our first Small Haus male! He is perhaps the most perfect cat ever born! (Not biased) Here he is, living the cushy retirement life, trying to fit into any box he can find. We kept two of his daughters to carry on his goofy ways, Tonks and Trinity.
He is a brown classic tabby without white. |
RosieBloomingtrees MammaMia of Small Haus. She was our supermodel! The whole Small family traveled to Germany in 2018 to pick her up, and she was a glowing presence in our home! She has the loudest purr I have ever heard, and loves to lick. She had some pregnancy trouble, so she retired early. Her stunning daughter Artemis is staying with us, and we're thankful she inherited all of her mother's wonderful qualities.
Rosie is a red silver "cameo" tabby without white. |
TaliaOfficial name "Su Meile Stardust of Small Haus", she is originally from Lithuania, and is related to Bron, our blue male. She's a very unique combination of very active and very snuggly. She is a playful girl - she loves to play fetch with bobby pins for as long as you can stand it. She is truly an amazing snuggler. She’s in her new home now, with some active boys and a German shepherd. She will fit right in! We kept her daughter Trinity, who is everything a Maine Coon should be.
Talia is a red ticked tabby with white. |
EliseSmall Haus Elise is the first breeding cat we kept from one of our own breedings! Her mother is Zoya, above. Her coloring remains perhaps the most striking we've had in our home. She only had one litter, and is now entertaining her forever home with her silliness, her strong will, and her determination to eat all the food she can find!
I did not take as many photos a few years ago, and it seems I only have one of her as a kitten! Elise is a brown patch classic tabby with white, like her mother, but with a much higher concentration of white, and with the color dispersed more in "blobs" than Zoya. |
TonksTonks is the mini-me of her father, Reinhardt. (Her mother is Zoya). Reinhardt and Tonks looked and acted almost identical! Same pattern, same loving and slightly desperate need for affection. She had two litters here, but was a little bit of a ditsy absentee mother, so we let her retire. She is now in a home as a therapy pet, and we miss her every day! She loved riding on shoulders, sitting on laps, verbal processing, and staring at the sink drain hoping to catch the drain monster!
We kept her beautiful and sweet daughter, Prism. Tonks is a brown classic tabby without white. |
StonewallOur beloved Stonewall (official name "Corner") is from Irina at Zorkamoroz in Belarus. He is a lover, through and through. He loves giving hugs, and being with any person! He's got a very long body type, and a beautiful black smoke color! He gave us five gorgeous and sweet litters of kittens, and it was time for him to retire. He will be living here with us, as long as the mama kitties will tolerate a man in the hen house. ;-)
We love him so much that we kept three of his daughters: Artemis, Prism, and Thestral! Stonewall is a black smoke without white. More Stonewall photos here. |
SnickersSnickers came from our dear friends at Icoons Cats in Florida. Our sweet and silly Snickers brings a level of amusement to us that no cat ever has! She is smarter than a cat has any right to be. She can open a drawer, take a toy out, and close the drawer to cover her tracks! She was a wonderful and committed mama to her litter, and her babies are brave and sweet! We will miss her antics. She is living her best life with another Small Haus baby in Connecticut.
Snickers is a brown patch classic tabby with white. |
BronOfficial name "Su Meile TNT of Small Haus"
Bron is a blue solid with gorgeous green eyes, and a tiny meow! We didn't have enough "work" for three males, and Bron had been with us the longest so we let him retire to be spoiled and loved at our good friends' house here in Dayton. We miss him but thankfully get to see him often. More Bron photos on his page. |
PrismPrism didn't enjoy being a mama, so she got to retire after just one litter! Mostly cats really delight in their maternal duties, so we take it seriously if they're not having fun.
She is the daughter of Tonks and Stonewall, and Granddaughter of our first stud, Reinhardt. =) She is loving as can be, and has a wonderful tenderness to her that we so enjoyed! We kept her daughter, Grisha. More Prism photos on her page. |
TrinityLady Trinity is retired, and living her best life here with us. She has an irresistible love for the man of the house (my husband, Todd), and so we are keeping her here with us as our first retiree to get to stay at the Small Haus! Trinity had two truly amazing litters, and we are so thankful for her presence. She is hilarious, insistent, talkative, and gorgeous.
See more photos of Trinity here on her page. |
ArtemisArtemis gave us two extraordinarily gorgeous litters! She is a tortie smoke, and looks like a supermodel! She's also over the top affectionate - especially when you're trying to get work done on the computer. We had a very hard time with her retirement decision, but in the end, she was happier in a calmer home.
