Kittens will mostly be spoken for by our reservation list! "Go home" date is around April 17th. ----- Trinity's first litter, and our first of 2021 was mostly already born on Saturday morning before I even found Trinity! She had four of them in the kitten room, with Agatha's litter galloping around her (facepalm). I brought her up to my closet for some peace and quiet for the birth of the last two. All six are doing great, and the color variety is so fun!
You can see common daily and weekly developmental milestones for kittens on this webpage. Bear in mind these are not Maine Coon specific, and of course things will vary.
Weeks 1-4 - Kittens are born milk-crazed and eyes closed. Around 10 days eyes open, and around 3 weeks they will start to bat at each other in a very clumsy and adorable attempt at early play. They will move out of our closet around 3 or 4 weeks, and downstairs into the kitten room (formerly our dining room). At that point, photos are much better and I will update more regularly.
4 weeks (Feb 20): Kittens have moved downstairs to the "kitten room." (Previously this was a dining room, now only cats get to dine in there!) They are doing well, and I'm enjoying seeing them more during the day. I will start giving them some raw food this week, but they probably won't eat much til week five. I will make individual pages in the next week or two. =)
