Kittens are not available for reservation until sometime between 6-8 weeks of age (February sometime).
"Go home" date is March 11th.
*Most kittens will be spoken for by the reservation list around 6-8 weeks of age, but depending on what the list chooses, there might be a few kittens available. Also, I am trying to decide if I will keep a female from this litter, so the choosing will be a little later than with some litters so I have time to evaluate the girls as best I can.
Agatha's kittens were born early morning December 17th, after a long two days of pre-labor. (Agatha likes to keep me up all night guessing!) I will post litter photos here periodically, and create individual pages for kittens sometime around 4 or 5 weeks. All eight babies are doing phenomenally and growing like crazy! Agatha is a fantastic mother, and keeps everyone fed and clean.
You can see common daily and weekly developmental milestones for kittens on this webpage. Bear in mind these are not Maine Coon specific, and of course things will vary.
Weeks 1-4 - Kittens are born milk-crazed and eyes closed. Around 10 days eyes open, and around 3 weeks they will start to bat at each other in a very clumsy and adorable attempt at early play. They will move out of our closet around 3 or 4 weeks, and downstairs into the kitten room (formerly our dining room). At that point, photos are much better and I will update more regularly.
4 weeks (Jan 14): Kittens have moved downstairs to the "kitten room." (Previously this was a dining room, now only cats get to dine in there!) They are doing well, and I'm enjoying seeing them more during the day. I have started giving them some wet food, and a few kittens are curious about it. In the coming week they will all start gobbling like wild piggies!
